Magical Color Inspiration/Challenge – Disney Style – Day 5

Happy Day 5 of the Magical Color Challenge!  This is sadly the final day for the challenge.  I’m sure by now you’re sick and tired of seeing me and Mike taking our own photos!!  LOL  I have to say that I always end up on vacation taking all the photos and it looks like Mike and the kids go everywhere WITHOUT me.!   It’s nice to be able to look back at these photos and really be able to cherish all the memories we made in LESS than 24 HOURS!  Wow!
Ok…Here they are….
I have to say that Ariel and Eric have quite a nice castle.  Very homey!  LOL

Mike was very proud of this photo.  He loved the waterfalls…

I love Harper’s Mill.  I can still remember loving it when I went to Magic Kingdom as a kid.

Magical Color Challenge – Day 4

Hey there, Peeps!  Happy Wednesday!
Here we are already on Day 4 of the “Magical Color Inspiration Challenge”.  Whew!  I can’t believe it.  I’m having a blast creating these projects to share with you.
I’m also really enjoying reliving the memories Mike and I made down in Florida on our Destination Date Night.  I think it’s helping me get through this long week while he’s overseas.  🙂
So here are the photos for today….   I’m sure you’ve noticed how much I love taking photos of random objects like lights and displays and signs.  Do you do that too?  It’s always fun to look back a remember the little details and it’s just my way of recording our memories.
Anyway…..here we go….
We left off over in New Fantasyland at Beast’s Castle….

This is inside the Grand Ballroom at the “Be Our Guest” Restaurant

The ceiling was beautiful!  There are three rooms you can choose from to eat in at the restaurant

Ok….Then we went back up to Main Street for a bit to shop and get a few goodies to take home to the kids…  We had to do something fun while our food settled so we could head off to ride some of our favorite rides!  Here are a few shots from Main Street….

I absolutely LOVE taking photos of the buildings on Main Street USA.  I’ve been to WDW many times and I STILL find new things that I never noticed before.  It’s SO cool!

Disney Cast Members are just terrific and we’ve had tons of fun talking to so many of them over the years.  This time was no exception…..

It doesn’t matter how many photos we have of us in front of Cinderella’s Castle.  They all tell a story….

It’s always a treat seeing the fun vehicles on Main Street.  Sometimes you can even hitch a ride.  🙂

Ok….so for today’s project I used two of the photos instead of just one.  This card just makes my heart SO happy!  Here are the inspiration photos…..

With a matching envelope!!  FUN!!
I seriously had the BEST time creating this card and matching envelope.  I’m telling you….get those punches out and USE THEM!  Look at what you can create with just a few scraps of card stock and designer series paper and a couple of punches!  It’s so much fun to play around with them and watch what comes out…..

Magical Color Challenge – Day 3

Hellooooooo Stampers!
Are you ready for Day 3 of the “Magical Color Challenge”?  If you’ve missed Days 1 and 2…go check them out.  Here are the next photos from our “Destination Date Night” at Walt Disney World (Magic Kingdom)…
 
 
First stop….Belle’s Cottage….Of course her father, Maurice, gave the place a lot of “character” with all of his inventions…

It was SO wonderful seeing the beautiful, flowering trees…in January!!

Then we headed over to the “quiet, little village” and visited Gaston’s Tavern…

Ahhh….*swoon* (ok…not really…..I’d take the Beast any day over Gaston!)  He asked what “Stampin’ Up! on my shirt meant.  When I explained he asked if I had mostly scrapbooks filled with photos of HIM!  Brut! 😉

It’s true!  He definitely DOES use antlers in ALL of his decorating!
Then….we made our way across the bridge to one of my NEW favorite places!!  Beast’s Castle!!

Magical Color Challenge – Day 2

 Ok…I admit it….it’s technically after midnight so I guess I should say “Happy Tuesday”.
The evening got away from me in the studio tonight.  I was designing for my Technique Boutique class tomorrow tonight and I lost track of time.  I’m really happy with those designs but I am even more excited to show you the photos for today and the card I created from the photo inspiration.
So….we left off on Main Street USA at Magic Kingdom….We couldn’t wait to head straight for New Fantasyland that had just recently opened to the public.  So that’s what we did….

We made a right turn and went exploring in the brand new Storybook Circus

We were on a mission….We wanted to find DUMBO!  You see…Mike and I have NEVER ridden Dumbo The Flying Elephant together.  We needed to change that!

What do you think?  I love the combination of the Daffodil Delight, Pool Party and Going Gray!  I never would have put the three colors together!  I’m SO happy with the way it turned out.

Color Challenge for YOU!

Good Morning from rainy Manassas, VA.  It’s a great day to stay inside and stamp….but…alas I have to go in to school for a Teacher Workday.  That’s okay.  I can still “design” in my head!  LOL

I wanted to add a little fun to this week here on my blog.  As you can see from my first set of photos, I picked just one and used the colors to create a card and matching envelope with them.

I want to challenge YOU to play along this week too.  Pick a photo (or two…or more) and use the colors in a project.  Then email a photo to me with a description of the photo you chose for your inspiration and I’ll post them here on my blog.  Isn’t that fun???  I love it!  I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Magical Color Inspiration-Disney Style-Day 1

Hey there, Peeps!
I can’t tell you just how excited I am about this week’s happenings here on my blog!!
Of course I’m excited about sharing the photos from my “Destination Date Night” with Mike a couple of weeks ago…but I didn’t realize how much fun it was going to be creating projects to share from the colors in the photos.  I’ve had a blast!  I hope you like them.
So…Here are the first photos….I’ll be sharing some each day this week.  
After my last session at Leadership Mike picked me up in his (oh, so cute) rental car and we headed over to Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa where he’d already checked in.  Man, oh man…we hit the ground running!  We had so many places to go and things we wanted to cram into less than 24 hours together.

I love checking in at our Disney Vacation Club “Home” resort.  It always feels good to hear them say, “Welcome Home!”.

It’s the little things!  Ahhhh!

We headed over to Downtown Disney for dinner at one of our favorite places, Paradiso 37…
We just kept saying, “Can you believe it’s January and we’re sitting outside on a warm evening in Florida having dinner???”  Heavenly!

The next morning we got up bright and early so we could load the car and be at Magic Kingdom in time for the Park Opening ceremony.  We made it with time to spare.  Whew!
So happy!

Inspired by the Mouse!

Hey there, Peeps!

Happy Saturday!  I am SO excited about the week ahead and I hope you will be too.
Recently I posted photos from SU! Leadership 2013 in Orlando and I told you that when it concluded Mike flew down to get me for an “overnight…destination date night”.  I know I promised you photos of our adventures and this week I’ll be bringing them to you…with an added twist. 
 What I didn’t tell you is that along with those photos I’m going to be doing a “Magical Color Inspiration – Disney Style”.  There will be photos each day and a project each day of the week that was inspired by the colors in the photos…or maybe a theme I took away from the photos.
 Don’t worry….You’ll see what I mean soon.  Promise!

Patterned Occasions – It’s in the Bag!

Ok….Today was an AWESOME DAY!
First…I had an early morning phone call from our school system declaring today a “snow day”!  Woot!
Then….I found out that I had finally reached my next goal with Stampin’ Up! and had been promoted to Manager!  WOW!!  What an incredible feeling!  It’s all because of YOU.  I honestly and sincerely LOVE sharing my creativity with you.  I am so incredibly blessed by all of you.  We may never meet  face to face but I know that you’re out there.  I am blessed by your comments and emails and I thank YOU from the bottom of my heart. 
 I pray that God continues to bless you and  your family more abundantly with each passing day.
Now….while I was at home today staying toasty and warm….I actually accomplished a lot.  I have the new video tutorial for the Pillow Boxes I posted the other day almost complete.  Woot!  I’m going to try to have that up here on the blog sometime this weekend.  I stamped several new projects and here’s one I thought I’d share with you tonight.  
I like to call it….“It’s in the Bag!” Card Set
I found these stinkin’ cute little bags at the Dollar Spot at Target.  They come two to a pack and this pack had sheer bags with pink sparkly hearts on them.  I thought they’d make a great little package for some little enclosure cards.  (and who doesn’t need enclosure cards??)  I know I’d love to get a pack of these to have on hand.  These are 3″x3″ cards with envelopes made from Designer Series Paper.  Really easy and fun to make.  For the 3″x3″ cards you’ll make your envelope by starting with a piece of DSP or card stock that is 5″x5″.  You’ll score on all four sides at 2 3/8″.  There will be a tiny little “triangle” where your score lines intersect on all sides.  You’ll want to cut those out and get rid of them.  Then you’ll just fold the flaps in…creating your envelope.  SO EASY!

My Funny Valentine Wreath

I know…I know….Some people say it’s just a “Hallmark Holiday” but I don’t care!
I love Valentine’s Day!!  There…I said it!
I like making fun treats, cards and decorations…I love hearts…I love red and pink….I love it ALL!
So….I was really excited to put this project together using the “Affection Collection” stamp set.
What do you think??
I started with a cardboard circle and some wooden clothespins.  I picked out some of my favorite scraps of Designer Series Paper and got to work.  It was really a fun project to make.  Here’s another view…
 
 
I know….it looks labor intensive but I swear to you it’s not bad at all.
I used Framelits from both the “Hearts A Flutter” set and the “Hearts Collection” Framelits.
