Ever heard the term “CASEing”?  

It’s stands for “Copy And Share Everything”

CASEing is something you’ll find in paper crafting quite often.  It’s an easy way to come up with a project quickly.  Guess what??  There’s more than one way to CASE.  Yes indeedy…  You can copy exactly or you can take the general design, stamp set or maybe the color scheme and make something of your own.

I received a gorgeous card as a swap when I was at SU! Leadership and I knew I wanted to recreate it in some way or another.  

First, I’ll show you the original card. 

 It was created by a very talented stamper by the name of Becky Morris.  I love her work!

and Cajun Craze

So….here’s what I came up with….  It’s a “pocket” card made with a Very Vanilla envelope…

So I hope this will inspire you to find something fun to CASE and stretch your imagination a little.  

It’s really a fun way to create.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

It’s been a wonderful day today.  I’m happy, healthy and with the ones I love.  

I wanted to post this earlier today but I had to wait until I’d handed out all of my valentines.  LOL

Here’s the newest little lady in my Punch Art Critter family….  

Her name is “Nellie”.  She’s named after one of my favorite valentines of all time, my Nannie (my dad’s mom), Nellie Marie Carrington.  I’m thinking that this little lady would really make her smile.  It’s been a very long time since I’ve been able to pick up the phone and call her or see her smiling face.

I’m thinking of her today and feeling her love around me.

She’s had a great day spreading some love and bringing smiles.

Ok….I’m admitting it here….loud and proud….

I have joined the “Soda Pop Top” crafting craze!

I was excited to open up the Spring Catalog and see that Stampin’ Up! had joined in too.

I have to say, though, that I’m not surprised.  They always seem to have their finger on the pulse of what’s hot.  Love that!

So I’ve been playing around with the pop tops I got in a recent order.  I had no idea that there are SO many different ways to use them for all kinds of fun crafts and creations.

I decided to create some fun jewelry with a couple of mine and I LOVE them.  Talk about a quick gift…  (Ok…who am I kidding??  I’m keeping these first two.)  Add whatever fits your fancy and seal it all in with a little Crystal Effects and VOILA.

I have to tell ya….My mind is racing with all the possibilities.

So much so, in fact, that I have a sweet FREEBIE for you.

What could be better than getting FREE stamps and supplies?  I mean seriously???
I don’t know about you but I’m loving Sale-A-Bration so far.  I’ve found tons of different ways to used just about all of the products I’ve earned so far and I’m nowhere close to being done.

Today I’m sharing a card I created for my “Just Cards” class recently.  It features “Feeling Sentimental”, one of the stamp sets that’s FREE during Sale-A-Bration.  It’s available in English, French and Spanish.  Let me show you the card and then I’ll explain how I created it….

To add a little added “vintage” feel….it’s spritzed with the Stampin’ Spritzer Tool and an Island Indigo Marker.  Fun, huh?

The card base is Island Indigo.  The background was created by stamping the “En Francais” stamp in Island Indigo Ink.  “Tone on Tone” stamping can give you such a striking effect.  I really enjoy using it.
Ok…now for a really fun technique….  the “Grid” technique.
I started with a scrap of Whisper White card stock.  I used my diagonal plate for the Simply Scored tool.  Now, you can choose whether to score your lines horizontally and vertically or score them diagonally.  You can also choose how far apart they will be.  Mine were scored 3/4″ apart on the diagonal (hence the diagonal scoring plate).   Once the card stock has been scored it’s time to stamp.
Here’s ANOTHER cool technique….Take any of your clear acrylic blocks…you choose the size…
I chose one that was just bigger than the image I planned to stamp.  I inked up the empty block with Crumb Cake ink and stamped it directly onto the scored White card stock.  Woot!  Ok….as if that wasn’t cool enough….  I then stamped the ferris wheel image from “Feeling Sentimental” in Pacific Point ink over top of the Crumb Cake image.  VOILA!  Now how stinkin’ cool is THAT??
I love how it looks!!  I just tore the edges and sponged them to give it a rustic feel.

I’m enjoying quite a relaxing day today.  It’s so nice.  We’ve had quite a busy week.  I’ve been busy in my studio working on two projects for a very special reason.  I was honored to be asked by Debbie McNeill of Crafty Person Productions to be their “Dynamic Demonstrator” for the month of February.  I’m beyond excited to work with Debbie and be able to share what I do with her followers and friends.  I had fun creating the projects and I was very happy that Debbie liked what I came up with.  I’ll have to see if I’m able to share them with you at some point.

I’ve also created several  new  projects to share here on my blog this week.  The one I picked to share today is a new addition to the Suitable Punch Art family.  Woot!

It’s a gorgeous snowy day here outside my window.  Ahhhh…..  Perfect!

I’m headed out soon to teach Scrapbook Club for this month at a charming, little shop in Warrenton, VA.  When we met last month, I let the ladies choose the theme for this month’s double page spread and they chose Christmas.

Well, with the soft snow falling I’d have to say that it’s a terrific day to get some Christmas memories in those scrapbooks.

Here’s the layout I designed.  I hope they like it….

You can’t really tell from the photo but the snow on the Christmas Lodge image has “diamond dust” snow on it.  It looks like a picture perfect Christmas to me.
