Happy BOO to You!

So long, summer! Hello, Fall!

Don’t get me wrong…I love summer!  I was talking to Linz the other day and she said how sad she is that summer is coming to an end and I really stopped and thought about which season I love the most  I honestly can’t choose.  Really though….hoodies, bonfires, football, pumpkins, colorful leaves…what’s not to love?

I have to admit that since the Holiday Catalog went LIVE I have been all about the holidays.  Have I mentioned lately how much I love this catalog??  Oh yeah….I have.  Well, I have a fun project for you today that I hope will make you smile and feel a little “fall” vibe.  If you’d like to make some of your very own, I’ll have the supplies listed for you at the end.

Flourishing Thanks

Happy Monday, Friends!
I can’t believe that it’s August already.  Whew!  This year is just flying by.  I’ve been busy working on new designs to share with you and I have to tell you that I’m just loving the new “Flourish Thinlits”.  I’ve only just started experimenting with them and I can’t seem to get enough of them!
These sweet “Thank You” cards are really quick and easy to put together.  They would be a lovely gift for a bride to be or maybe a mommy to be.  They can be made with any color of the rainbow and still make a statement.
Now, you may be wondering how I got the “spatter” on the background.  Well, I just took the cap off of the brush end of my Black Stampin’ Write Marker and used a “flicking” motion with the brush against the edge of the cap, pointing it at the cardstock.  You can add as much or as little as you’d like.  I think it just adds a fun layer to the design.

This fun Z-fold card just oozes summer if you ask me.  
Here’s a close up with the gorgeous “Wink of Stella” glistening in the light.
I love how easy the jar came together.  The large jar image was stamped in Archival Black Ink directly onto a piece of the Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper and then cut out.  The jar’s lid was stamped in Versamark ink and then heat embossed with Silver Embossing Powder and then cut out using the Everyday Jars Framelits.  The Crushed Curry Baker’s Twine finishes it off nicely I think.

Summer and Starfish and Sand…Oh, My!

Happy July!  I’m not quite sure where June went but July arrived right on time.  It’s been crazy busy here and I must admit that I need to get new running shoes just to keep up.  Whew!  The New Idea Book and Catalog has really inspired me and my creative juices are in full force.  If you don’t have a copy yet, we need to fix that asap because it’s just full of creative inspiration.

Today’s card was created using two of my favorite sets….Timeless Textures and Picture Perfect.  They go together like peanut butter and jelly!  Another favorite of mine is the new Serene Scenery Paper Stack.  It is absolutely gorgeous and it’s definitely one of those stacks where you’ll want to use BOTH sides of the paper.  Decisions…decisions…..

Measurements:
     
o   Pool Party – 4 1/4″ x 11″
o   Soft Suede – 3 1/8” x 4 7/8”
o   Serene Scenery DSP Stack 3” x 4 ¾”
o   Whisper White – 3 1/8” x 3 1/8”
Instructions:
  1. Score and burnish fold on base card.
  2. Stamp Grid stamp in Soft Suede from Timeless Textures onto Patterned piece and continue onto base card.  Stamp Leaf stamp in Garden Green onto patterned piece from right hand side going towards centre and up. Stamp small spotty stamp from Timeless Textures over patterned piece and base card where grid has been stamped.  Stamp sentiment from Picture Perfect on Patterned piece in the top left. Adhere patterned piece to Soft Suede piece with Fast Fuse.
  3. Draw a line of glue with the Fine Tip Glue pen 1” from bottom of patterned layer and affix Lace trim to panel. Using Tear n Tape adhere Burlap ribbon slighty overlapping the top of the lace trim. Adhere this panel to base card using Dimensionals
  4. Stamp your Starfish. Top Starfish is in Dapper Denim and base Starfish is Soft Sky.  TIP:  I find it easier to line up if I do the darker stamp first – much easier to see than a paler colour through the block and photopolymer rubber. Cut out with paper snips.
  5. Scrunch your Navy Baker’s Twine up and place on panel – it’s ok to be messy here – don’t use any glue/adhesive to stick this down – you just want it messy and in a circle. Affix Dimensionals to the back of your StarFish and place over your ‘messy’ twine. The Dimensionals will hold your twine in place – use extra dimensionals on the back of the starfish so you hold all the twine.
  6. Decorate your card with Navy Enamel dots and Rhinestones.

A Tuscan Vineyard – A girl can dream….right?

I’m dreaming of Tuscany!

I’ve always looked at photos of Tuscany and dreamed of walking through fields of sunflowers and sipping on some delicious wine.  It just sounds magical to me.  I was excited to see the NEW “Tuscan Vineyard” stamp set in the new catalog.  The images are beautiful and the possibilities are endless.

The card I’m sharing with you today is a “Triple Time Stamping” design and I think the images I chose from the set are just perfect for this collage stamping design.  I also used some of the NEW Copper Embossing Powder.  It is simply YUMMY!  The “Celebrate Your Day” sentiment is from the NEW “Designer Tin of Cards” stamp set.  It is a wonderful set for SO many occasions and includes 33 stamps!!  WOWZA!

Happiness is…Everyday Jars

Happy Thursday, Friends!

It is a gorgeous day here today and I love having all of the windows open and the music cranked here in the studio.  I’ve been busy creating new samples and class kits with all of the new products that have arrived from the NEW Stampin’ Up! Catalog.  While I’m loving them all….one bundle in particular has stolen my heart….. The “Jar of Love” stamp set and coordinating “Everyday Jars” Framelits.  It’s one of those bundles that just has my brain buzzing with ideas and I LOVE it!
Here are a couple of the beauties I’ve made with the bundle so far….
I love the way the large jar looks in Dapper Denim that has been “stamped off”.  It reminds me of the blue Mason jars I have in my collection.
This fun, little 4″ x 4″ easel card is just too stinkin’ cute.  I love the littlest jar with the firefly image.  It just makes me dream of those summer nights outside catching lightning bugs as a kid.  Isn’t that NEW Petal Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder perfect with this set?  SO fun!  I love having the lid and handle embossed with Silver Embossing Powder too just to add some dimension.

Hello, Baby Bear

Happy Monday, Friends!

I thought we’d start the week off with some serious cuteness.  Please say “Hello” to “Baby Bear”.   This adorable set is SO life like!  I just adore it.  It comes in photopolymer and is SO easy to line up for realistic images that are picture perfect every time.  I know this set will be well loved in my studio for sure.
Here’s the gate fold card I created for you today….
Baby Bear is stamped first in Smoky Slate ink and the second layer image is stamped in Basic Grey ink to add the details.  The card base is one of the new In Colors, Dapper Denim and it’s paired with Real Red and Smoky Slate accents.  I added a small strip of Silver Foil Paper and some whispy Silver Thread to really make it all come together.
The sentiment is stamped in Basic Grey ink on Real Red card stock and then punched out with the new Duet Banner Punch.  The adorable Designer Series Paper with the grey flags is from the NEW “A Little Foxy” Paper Stack and the Dapper Denim/White striped DSP is from the NEW 2016-18 In Color 12″ x 12″ paper stack.
