Voting for a NEW Princess…

Happy Sunday Everyone,
I’m sitting here making my “To Do” list for this week and I want your opinion on something.
If you’re a regular follower here, you know that I’m packing up my studio (*sob*) so that we can finally give it an Extreme Makeover. YAY!  It’s going to be painful for a bit but in the end it will all be worth it. 
So today I’ve been making lists of upcoming projects, tutorials and videos that I want to create to share with all of you.  One of the things at the top of my list is a NEW Disney Princess Punch Art Tutorial.
My dilemma is….who should I create next?  
The three tutorials that I have for sale here on my blog (check the tabs at the top above this post) are Cinderella, Belle and Snow White.  I’ve done dresses for Alice and Mulan and Merida too but haven’t put those into tutorial form yet.  There just hasn’t been much of a demand for them.
Here are the princesses I have designed so far….

Now this is where YOU come in…  I’d really like to create another princess and I can’t decide who to do next.  Would you please leave me a comment here on the blog and let me know which princess you’d like to see come to life next?  I would LOVE to get your input.
I’m excited to get started and I can’t wait to hear your ideas.

“Love You More”

Happy Saturday Friends,

We’ve had a fun and busy day today.  I’ve been organizing things from our Inkerbelles team get together last night.  I had such a great time seeing everyone and sharing all of the details from SU! Leadership with them.  It was definitely one of those “so much to share…so little time” get togethers.  I absolutely love having the ladies over for some serious “girl time”, stampin’ and fun. 

I designed two fun cards and one “sweet” Valentine project for them to make.  They really loved them all.  Woot!  I want to share the first card with you today.  It’s a “file folder” card.  Have you tried making one of them yet?  They are super cute and SUPER easy.  The “must have” tool for making one is the Envelope Punch Board #133740.  Here’s a peek at the card and then I’ll give you the details…

“Butterfly Love” Framed Art

Happy Wednesday, Peeps!
Another snow day here in our little town today…and ANOTHER one tomorrow.  Whew!
It’s absolutely bitter outside and still very icy.  I’m feeling so blessed to have time to spend doing what I love to do…stamp and create…And an added bonus is that I get to share it with all of you.
I’m practically giddy about today’s project.  This one is the result of my trip to Ikea with my daughter, Brittany, last weekend.  We were looking for inspiration for my studio remodel.  While we were browsing through all of the displays, I saw a few decor pieces that caught my eye.  There was one, though, that I looked at and I said to Brittany, “You know what?  I could make that with my Stampin’ Up! punches and framelits!”.  So…long story short…I bought an empty shadow box frame and here’s what I came up with…
I just love the way it turned out.  I have just the perfect place to hang it too.
When I look at it I think about setting your love free to spread it around the world…  I’m such a mush!
 
I’m thinking that these would be terrific gifts for lots of different occasions…Valentine’s Day, weddings, baby or bridal showers, house warmings and more.  I know I’d LOVE to receive one and you could change the colors of the butterflies to match a person’s decor.
 
I’m also considering selling these as completed projects.

“Kisses” in a Snow Storm

Hello, friends!
Here’s the view outside our family room door…
Can you guess where we’ve been today?
If you guessed “bundled up at home”, you’d be right.  While we may not have gotten the orginial 8+ inches of snow they were calling for…we’re at about 5 inches here in our little town and that’s just fine with me.
We found out about an hour ago that we’ll be right here again tomorrow.  WOOT!  Another snow day is fine by me.  Right now the temps are in the single digits but the terrible winds make it feel like it’s below zero out there.  Brrrr!
Never fear…I have just the card to warm things up.  This is one of the cards the girls got to make at “Just Cards” last night.
 
 
You know how much I LOVE sparkle and pixiedust, right?  Well, the Silver Glimmer Paper is one of my favorite ways to bring that out in my projects.  The “kiss” is made using the Blossom Builder Punch.  I use that punch for SO many projects…especially my punch art.  Bad news….it’s recently been retired…  Good news…It’s available on the Clearance Rack at my Online Store.  WOOT!  Get yours before they’re all gone.  I even ordered an extra to keep on hand.

“Field Flowers” in a Snow Storm?

Two of my favorite words….

Yep!  The first flake hasn’t yet fallen and we just got the call…
NO SCHOOL TOMORROW!
Woot!!
We are supposed to get between 4-8+ inches of snow before all’s said and done.  That’s just fine with me.  I love having time to stamp and create.  Maybe I’ll even start packing up my studio to get things ready for Mike to put down the new wood floor.  I can’t wait to get things underway.  
I don’t know about you but I have to clean up before I can “mess up”…(er…I mean “create”).
Speaking of which…I just finished cleaning up from the “Just Cards” stamp camp I had here tonight.
What an awesome group of ladies.  It’s funny…I’m always amazed when I stop and look around the tables and see the smiling faces of the sweet people I would have never met if it hadn’t been for Stampin’ Up!  What a blessing.
I thought I’d share the first of four cards with you that they created tonight.  It was really popular with the stampers and I hope you like it too.
I love these colors together.  The card base is Elegant Eggplant and the focal point is Whisper White, Perfect Plum and the new Silver Foil.  The base is stamped with the “En Francais” background stamp #128562.  I love that stamp.  It’s such a great addition to any project and it just adds a little “Umph”.  It’s so elegant.  I stamped it with the Metallic Silver ink to tie it in with the Silver Foil Paper.
The ink colors I used are Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum and Pear Pizzazz.  I absolutely LOVE how easy it is to match colors with Stampin’ Up!…everything from ink to card stock to markers to ribbon.  SO cool.
The stamp set is “Field Flowers”  #122762.

Meet “Stanley” the Love Bug

Happy Sunday, Peeps!

I’m enjoying some time in my studio today between loads of laundry and straightening up a bit.  It’s so nice to know we all have tomorrow off too.  Just a little room to breathe and relax…

I’ve had a few punch art critters who have been nagging at me lately.  Those pesky little buggers just kept begging to come to “life”.  LOL  I’m SO glad they did because you probably know by now how much I love creating with punches.

The little guy I have for you today is a cutie patootie.
His name is “Stanley”.  He’s just a little Love Bug.

Isn’t he fun??  He just makes me smile.

Here’s a photo of the parts and pieces I punched out to create him…

Stanley’s face/body and chubby cheeks were created using the Starburst Framelit Dies #132967.  They are from the Occasions Catalog.  I love them and have found tons of projects to use them on.  They haven’t left my desk since they arrived in the mail.

Notice the textured, silver paper I used for the background?  (LOVE it!)  Well….I used the NEW “Decorative Dots” Embossing Folder that is one of our fabulous Sale a Bration products that you can get for FREE with any $50 order.  Sale a Bration is one of our biggest specials of the year and it starts next Tuesday, January 28th.  The silver paper is from the new Occasions Catalog.  It’s a piece of the Silver Foil Sheet #132178.  (It also comes in Gold #132622).  I love the way it looks when it’s not embossed too.  What a way to make your project “Pop”.

The “Love You” stamp is from one of our 25th Anniversary Stamp Sets.  It’s called “Best of Love” #132987.

I love all of the images in the set.  I just stamped the image with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with White Embossing Powder.  Then I just used my Paper Snips to cut it out.  The white  highlight marks are made using one of my favorite tools, the White Stampin’ Chalk Marker #132133. It can also be found in the Occasions Catalog.

Color Challenge Debut!

Hey there, Stampers!

Happy TGIF!  Sorry I was MIA yesterday.  I actually spent 3.5 hours in the dentist’s chair getting not one but TWO crowns.  UGH!  I absolutely can’t stand going to the dentist and I was seriously terrified.  Everything went well but I came home and went to sleep.  When she said I would be “sore”…she was right.

Anyway….I have some exciting news to share today.  For those of you who follow me on Facebook (my page is “Suitably Stamped), you probably noticed today that I’ve started something new.  Every Friday I will be posting an inspiration photo.  It will just be something that strikes my fancy…colors, textures…etc.  I will leave the photo on there for the following week.  Anyone who would like to can create a card or scrapbook layout using the photo as their inspiration.  Photos should be posted to the page by the following Wednesday afternoon.  I will have my cracker jack team here vote on the entries and pick a winner.  What will the winner receive??  I’m so glad you asked!  Since this is for fun and to help us inspire each other (and it’s not the Lotto 🙂  )  the winner will, of course, have the “bragging rights” and will receive a special hand stamped card from me in the mail.  For those of you with a blog, you will also receive a special blog button (that’s in the works) that will show off your “win”.  Sounds like fun, right?

So….are you ready to see the first Color Challenge Inspiration photo?  Okay….here you go…

I saw this photo on Pinterest and I just love the colors, prints and textures.  I thought this was a perfect way to start the challenge.  I created a card tonight to kick things off and I have to say that when I was picking out card stock, the colors were definitely NOT ones I would have ever put together on my own.  SCORE!  That’s exactly what I was hoping for.  Inspiration!

Okay….Here’s the card that I came up with…

I was really proud of myself.  This is definitely “out of the box” for me.  You know my style, right?  Isn’t this different?  So cool! 

The stamp set is one of our newest and it’s called “Geometrical”.  I love all of the greetings that are included….especially “Cheer Up Buttercup!”.  LOL

I love the “Alphabet Press” Embossing Folder (Item #130916).  I made the background by cutting four strips of various colored card stock, adhering them to another piece that measured 4″ x 5 1/4″ and then running the entire piece through the Big Shot in the folder.  I love the way it turned out.  Really great news….the “Alphabet Press” folder is actually on the Weekly Deals this week.  Check out the other goodies that are included in the special…

Mickey “LOVE” is Pure Gold

Hey there, Stampers!

I’ve had a lot of fun tonight in the studio creating this new “Golden Mickey LOVE” card.  Mike is on travel and landed in Orlando earlier this evening.  It was SO sweet of him to call and tell me that it was 31 degrees…sleeting to beat the band….and he was pretty sure all of Disney was CLOSED.  LOL!!!  Yeah, right.  Oh well…he’ll be back home very soon and I do hope he can enjoy the warmer weather while he’s in the Sunshine State.

So….I needed a little Disney tonight.  Let me show you what I came up with…

I absolutely LOVE the new Gold and Silver paper from Stampin’ Up!  It is such a “pop” of chic on any project.  I also LOVE it when it’s embossed.  Since I’m a little short on posting time tonight, I won’t go into all the details.  (It’s almost midnight and I have a 7:30 a.m. dentist appointment to get TWO crowns.  BLECH!  SO not magical!)  If you have any questions about the supplies or design elements, please leave me a comment and I’ll get back to you asap. 🙂
