Going for Gold

Happy Tuesday, Peeps!

We’ve had the Olympics on a lot since before the opening ceremonies and I’m enjoying all of the personal stories and “behind the scenes” looks. Linz is always intrigued by anything and everything having to do with other countries so this is right up her alley too. So far the USA hasn’t earned too many gold medals but that’s okay. I’m bringing the “gold” today with this fun project.

Take a peek at this sweet Valentine’s project that’s sure to “blow” your mind and make your eyes “pop”.

Blow Pop Bouquet – Valentine Ensemble

Fun! Right? This is one of those projects that provides WAY more bang for your buck than you spent to make it. The adorable, little bottle is from the dollar rack at a local craft store. (Now I want MORE of them!) I put one scrap of Whisper White card stock and a scrap of the Gold Foil card stock through our paper shredder. (It’s just a cheapy that I bought at Wal Mart). I took the shreds and stuffed them into the bottle as filler. I used another scrap of the Gold Foil card stock and measured a strip to make a wrapper for the bottle. I then embossed it with one of the “Delicate Designs” Embossing Folders #127023 and then trimmed out the bottom edge. It’s then adhered using Sticky Strip.

The Blow Pop “flowers” are made using the NEW Spiral Flower Die #129379.

It’s super easy to use and I have a lot of projects in mind for this little beauty.

I punched a hole in the center of the middle circle before I started gluing the piece together for the stick to go through. The fun, gold piece in the center of the arrangement is just a piece of the Gold

Foil card stock that is cut at 1 1/4″ x 4″. It is folded down the middle on the short side. I glued a thin piece of wire in the crease at the bottom edge so it has a “stem”. Then, using the new Fringe Scissors #133325, cut from the top edge down approximately 2 3/4″ Then you will curl each strip so that they are springy. It’s just the perfect sparkle for your little arrangement.

I added a little 3″ x 3″ card with the Love Bird image from the “Love You More” stamp set (Wood Mount #131850/Clear Mount #131853) and embossed it in gold to tie it all together. Did you notice the background? It’s from the most used embossing folder in my studio lately…. “Decorative Dots” #133520…I know I’ve told you already but I just LOVE saying it….I got it FREE from Sale A Bration! WOOT!

Super Hero Sophie Arrives!

Hello, my friends…Happy Monday!

It’s a quiet night here in our neck of the woods. I keep hearing the words “Winter Storm” during all of the commercial breaks on both the radio on the way home and on the t.v tonight. Hmmmm….I wonder….
I have to say that I’d love just one BIG snow and then spring. That would be perfect. I’d have a few days off to just spend time here with Mike and the kids and stamp to my heart’s content. Woot!

I’ve really had fun tonight working on a new Suitably Punched Critter. She just makes me giggle. I was inspired by one of the newest stamp sets called, “Cool Kid”. Here’s what I came up with…

You are MY sunshine!

Good Morning my friends and Happy Sunday!

I am so happy today to have time to create and do what I love to do. I don’t know about you, but I think that getting all cozy, turning on some great tunes and stamping the day away is absolutely the BEST feeling. I saw a cute photo on Pinterest this morning and it started my creative juices flowing. It was sort of a “jumping off” spot for me. Here it is….

Now I know I didn’t stick with the colors in the photo (which are Crushed Curry and Crumb Cake, of course) LOL, but it was a perfect starter for what I created. I decided to use Crushed Curry and Smoky Slate instead. Wanna see? Ok..here you go.

Isn’t that just HAPPY? It’s really a clean and simple card but I just love the way it turned out.

I’ve wanted to make a Starburst card for awhile now and this was the perfect opportunity. I love the “See Ya Later” stamp set from Sale A Bration and it’s even more fun that I got it for FREE. Woot! I love all of the images in the set. Let me show you….

This set is definitely going to see LOTS of “ink time”.

Stinkin’ Ca-UTE!

Hey there, stampers! Happy TGIFE!

(That’s “Thank Goodness It’s Friday Eve! – a “Lindsay-ism)

I came home after work and couldn’t wait to make this little cutie. She’s been rattling around in my head for a few days now and I am SO happy she came to “life” tonight.

Her name is “Dixie” and she’s a little skunk.

My daughter, Lindsay has wanted me to create a skunk for awhile now. She loves “Pepe Le Pew”, a popular cartoon skunk that I grew up with on Saturday mornings. She was SO excited when she came in and saw Dixie on my table as I was photographing her. She made my day with her giddiness.

I love the new “Woodgrain” background stamp. It was the perfect addition to the whole “woodland” theme I think. LOL

When’s the last time you just took your punches out and played with them? Sometime you need to just take them out and punch out a few shapes and see what comes to life. Honestly….It is the BEST.

Ok…I’m off to get things ready for the school day tomorrow. I hope you like Dixie and I also hope you’re inspired to take your punches out for a spin and see where you end up.

I Followed My Heart…

Hello, my friends,

I just had to share this sweet, little card I made tonight before I head up to bed. Sometimes I come home from work and do dinner…errands…laundry…etc. and later on in the evening I just have a feeling that I need to create something pretty. Tonight was one of those nights.

I made “Brinner” tonight (or “breakfast for dinner” as you may call it…) and after everyone was settled in for the evening I came in here to stamp. I’m so glad I did because it was honestly just what I needed. No stress…no fuss…no muss… Just some time to sit and create. Here’s what I came up with…

I just love the Postcard background stamp. I use it for so many different occasions. I won’t list all of the products used on this one tonight. (I really need a little beauty sleep…*yawn*) but please message me if you have any questions. You know how much I love your comments and questions.

“Awesome Sauce”… Retro Fresh

Happy Monday!

I had so much fun tonight challenging myself to make a “clean and simple” card. Weird. Right? How hard can “clean and simple be? I don’t know about you but when I’m crafting I tend to have the “just one more thing” mentality. It could be a button, a brad, some bling…you name it. Well, tonight I fell in love with one of the new products from the Occasions Catalog that may just change me (at least part of the time) to a clean and simple kind of girl. Check out the “Retro Fresh” Designer Journaling Tags #133526.

There are 32 tags in 3 sizes for just $4.95. What a deal! There are printed designs and some others that are perfect to stamp on. So….are you ready to see what I came up with? It’s a Z-Fold Card and it uses one of my favorite tags out of the whole set.

How fun is that? I used the New “Starburst” Framelits #132967 from the Occasions Catalog.

I love how they mimic the design on the tag. I also used the awesome

“Decorative Dots” Textured Embossing Folder #133520.

I’m going to have to order a couple more because I’m using it all the time.

Love You to the Moon and Back

Happy Super Bowl Sunday!

This is one of those times when I’m really glad we don’t do “video” blog posts LIVE. You can’t even imagine how much my house looks like a bomb has gone off in here. We’ve gutted my studio and I’m officially crafting from the comfort of the dining room. Mike has the new studio wood flooring about half done as of right now. I can hear the music and banging coming from up there and that means PROGRESS. WOOT! It’s okay…I’m stamping away down here and I can’t wait to get back up there to set up all of the new cabinets and organize my studio space. I have to keep pinching myself to believe it’s finally happening.

Okay….welcome to the month of “LOVE”. I love Valentine’s Day and especially all of the fun crafting possiblities. I made a new decor item for our house today to keep up all month. Who knows…I love it SO much….I might keep it up longer. LOL

I love the “On Film” Thinlits and the Polaroid look is definitely “hot” right now. The thinlits are double the fun because with one run through the Big Shot they not only cut out the frames but them emboss them too. Yes!
I also used the “Label Card” Thinlit Dies to make the embellishments. Perfect!
