Wow!  It sure feels like late spring here in our little town today.  There’s been a lovely breeze blowing all day and I’ve had my windows open….Not much like August in Virginia.

I’ve been working in the studio today designing Christmas cards.  Yep!  That’s right!  I said, “Christmas”.  The brand new Holiday Catalog is full of fun new stamps for fall, Halloween, Christmas, Hanukkah, snow days and more.  I’m working on some sneak peek projects for you that I’ll be sharing soon.  If you are already on my mailing list, you should receive your copy in the mail soon (if not already).  If you aren’t on my mailing list…we need to fix that!  Either message me here on the blog or email me at shellsuit@verizon.net and request to be added.  We’ll fix ya right up!  The catalog goes LIVE on August 28th so you’ll want to get your Wish List ready to roll.

The card I’m sharing today is one that I created first with the NEW “Kinda Eclectic” stamp set.  I know that you know that I almost always have Disney on my brain so I’m sure it comes as little to no surprise.  Well….let me show you the card and stamp set and you’ll see what I mean.

Hello, my friends,

I know it’s been awhile since I’ve blogged.  What a whirlwind it’s been.  Let me start by saying that July 2014 is a month that I will ALWAYS remember as one of the best times of my life.   I don’t say that lightly.

First, I was incredibly honored to be asked to be a presenter on the Main Stage at Stampin’ Up’s National Convention 2014.  It was truly one of the BEST experiences of my life.  I can’t begin to tell you how much fun I had living out my dream of sharing what I love with over 4,000 fellow demonstrators.  I feel SO blessed.  I loved every second of it.  (Side Note:  Unfortunately, the following day I ended up in the ER in Salt Lake City with a kidney stone.  NOT fun.)  I’m feeling tons better and was able to fly home as scheduled.  It was a bummer to miss a lot of the fun activities on Friday and Friday night.  I was able to attend closing session…even though it was through the haze of some really great medication.  LOL  I still wouldn’t trade that Convention experience for anything.  God is SO good.  I was thrilled to get a call from Stampin’ Up! letting me know that after the results of the survey after Convention ended were tallied, the Demonstrator Theatre that I was part of was the most popular event!  WAHOOOO!!!  How cool is THAT???

So….I got home from Utah and received the BEST NEWS EVER!!   Brittany and Sam are expecting their first baby!!!  YAY!!!!!  I’m gonna be a Grandma!!!  It’s still early yet so stay tuned for lots more updates as the months go by. (this bit of good news is the inspiration for today’s card I’m sharing…)

At the end of the week, we headed off for our family vacation at Walt Disney World.  It was an awesome trip.  It really was one of the most relaxing trips we’ve been on.  I’m looking forward to going back in November but I’m definitely NOT ready yet for the reason we’ll be there….my FIRST Half Marathon!  Yikes!!  Gotta  keep movin’!

Happy 4th of July Everyone!

We are getting things ready here to celebrate in our little “Old Town”.  We usually head down there in the late afternoon/early evening to claim our spot to watch the fireworks.  The town has a fun filled festival and a really rockin’ fireworks display too.  Since we’ve had temps close to 100 degrees this week, we’ll have to see how it goes.

Last night I had such a fun group of stampers here for my “Just Cards” stamp camp this month.  We had a terrific time stampin’, laughing and just plain having some great fun together.  As always, they each made five cards and a good time was had by all.

Here’s the “4th of July” themed card they got to make…

The pinwheel, large, silver brad and the white “flag” are pieces from this month’s Paper Pumpkin kit.  WOW!  What a kit it was!  It came with pre-cut pinwheels in three different paper designs, paper straws to attach them to and a pack of brads and adorable paper clips to use with them.  It also had a set of three stamps (the “Celebrate” you see in the photo was one of them) and a roll of Baker’s Twine with a “Night of Navy” Stampin’ Ink Spot.  I was thrilled to see that Stampin’ Up! is now offering extras of this kit for sale.  It would be terrific for other occasions too.

Do you see those adorable “fireworks” in the background?  Guess what stamp set I used to create them???  Here let me show you….

Surprise!  It’s the “You’re Too Kind” Stamp Set (Item #130450).  This is a perfect example of how stamp sets can be used for SO many different things.  Love it!

One of my favorite stampers at class was this beautiful lady…my Mama!  She has become quite the stampin’ lady.  I’m SO proud of her.  Here she is showing off her creations from class.
