Hey there, Peeps!!

WHEWWWWWW!!!!  What a weekend I’ve had!!!!
I know I’ve been slacking here on my blog for the past couple of weeks and I’m very sorry.  I have been burning the midnight oil getting ready for a VERY exciting presentation at Stampin’ Up!’s Regional event in Baltimore, MD that was held yesterday.  Let me just say that April 13th will go down as one of my “BEST DAYS EVER”.

I was really in shock when I got a call from Stampin’ Up! asking me if I’d be a presenter.  I mean….I’ve sat through a LOT of awesome presentations at the numerous events I’ve attended and I could NOT believe they wanted ME to share some of MY work.  Holy Guacamole!!!  I was thrilled that they’d seen my punch art and asked if I’d be willing to share it with everyone at regionals.  Are you KIDDING me???

Well, fortunately for me they weren’t kidding and so I used the last two weeks to create a few new “Suitably Punched” projects to take with me to the event.

I’m going to share a few of them here in this post and I’ll have more coming up this week.  To be completely honest….I’ve spent SO many hours in my studio during the last two weeks so once I came home from Baltimore yesterday, I promised Mike, Linz and Zach that today I was “all theirs”.  We had an awesome adventure with just the four of us today at National Harbor.  It was SO incredible to just laugh and relax and spend some “family time” together.  Needless to say, I didn’t get many photos edited and things ready to upload here for the blog post tonight.  I promise you, though, you’re going to have lots to see in the coming days and weeks!!

So….are you ready for a few new “critter” friends?  Here are a few of them who made the trip to Baltimore with me yesterday…..

Hello, my stampin’ friends!

Welcome to a brand new week.  WOOT!  I’ve been busier than a mosquito at a nudist colony picnic!
I’m SOOOOO excited to tell you that I received a phone call last Wednesday from Stampin’ Up! asking me to be a presenter at their Baltimore Regional Event this coming Saturday, April 13th.  I still can’t believe it!!  I’ll be sharing some of my Punch Art.  How cool is THAT???

Needless to say I’ve been keeping some pretty late hours in my studio.  Too bad I need to work a “regular” job during the day.  🙁  Oh well….we do enjoy things like food and gas and lights…
One day I pray that I’ll be able to devote ALL of my time to creating and sharing what I LOVE.  I’m still prayin’!

Ok,..so I wanted to share a fun card with you today with a stamp set that I just bought.  I’ve looked at it many times as I flipped through the catalog and I think once the temperatures finally warmed up I knew I was ready to add it to my collection.  It’s called “By the Seashore” (wood mount #126530/clear mount #126532)  Here are the images included in the set…

 

 

I love this technique.  It’s called “Triple Time Stamping”.  It’s really a quick and easy technique that has quite a “WOW!” factor.  Hmmm….I might need to do a video tutorial on this one.  What do you think?

The colors I used are Midnight Muse, Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla.  The center focal point was made using one of those stinkin’ cute “Pop Tops” from the Spring Catalog.  I put it through my Big Shot and “smushed” it. (technical term)  🙂  I used the “Sending Many Thanks” stamp from the “Petite Pairs” stamp set (wood mount #122495/clear mount #122497)  The center panel is wrapped with Linen Thread #104199.  I used the “Little Labels Punch Pack” #126881 to make the little tags that are attached.  Aren’t they sweet?  They add just a little “POP” of color.

Now I think that this is a perfect card to start sending out to friends and family since the sun seems to be shining just a little brighter and they sky is just a little bluer.  IT’S SPRING!   I know I can’t wait for summer to arrive and I’m sure we will be enjoying some of those delicious steamed crabs before you can say, “Old Bay!”.

Oh my GOODNESS!  I have SO much I want to tell you about this project but it is SO late and I have about an hour left of my Spring Break.  🙁  Back to School in the morning.   *sniffle*
We’ve had a terrific time and I’ve gotten SO much done. 

The project I created this afternoon (and evening) is one I’ve wanted to do for the last couple of weeks.  I swear it feels like giving birth after completing one of these!!  LOL

I have had so many of you email and ask when the next Princess Punch Art Tutorial will be out and I promise….this one will be done soon but I HAD to share the project with you tonight.  I just couldn’t stand it!

So…please stay tuned for the tutorial….Until then…..

The blue of her dress isn’t nearly as bright in real life.  I just couldn’t get the color in the photo to show it well.  It’s actually Not Quite Navy.  Go figure….

I hope it makes you smile and I can’t wait to tell you all about it.  I had a blast creating the background for this one.  I used my Aqua Painter with Pool Party, Old Olive, Early Espresso and Not Quite Navy ink pads on Naturals Ivory card stock.  How fun!!!

Ok….I seriously have to hit the hay.  5:30 is going to be here before I know it.  🙁

Well…the Easter Bunny is in full “prep” mode and sometimes a bunny needs a little help.
I was happy to find the “eggcellent” digital download from Stampin’ Up! just waiting for me.  I love decorating the house and our table with fun, spring treats and design and MDS makes it SO easy.

Jeepers…Creepers!  I made Bloomin’ Peepsters!!

LOL…sorry I couldn’t resist.  🙂

If you’ve read my blog for a spring season or two you know by now that I’m a HUGE fan of all things Peeps.  Bunny Peeps, Chicks Peeps, Heart Peeps, Gingerbread Man Peeps, Pumpkin Peeps… You name it….I love them!

A few years ago I stumbled upon a whole new level of awesome in the Peeps Empire called “Peepsters”.  Oh….My….Smurf!  They are are heaven wrapped in a lovely, pastel foil wrapper. YUMMM!!

Now…I was innocently minding my own business yesterday….strolling the aisles at Wal Mart and POW!  There they were!  I will tell you that having candy in my studio is never a good idea.  I sit there sketching designs and I can hear it all the way across the room calling my name.  But…how could I possibly leave those poor Peepsters there in Wal Mart without a good home? 

So after they hopped into my cart and we made it home I decided the best thing I could do was use those sweet treats in a new project.  Here’s what I came up with…

I have SO many ideas of Smash Books I’d like to make.  The first one will be “A Day In My Life” theme….then I’ll also have one for the last four months leading up to Brittany and Sam’s wedding!
